in Rival Restaurants, players choose a restaurant, each having a variety of benefits, and a chef, which also have their unique benefits. They then select a basic and a gourmet recipe and go shopping for ingredients, barter and trade, dump garbage, upgrade their restaurant, and complete dishes for victory points. It feels like a cooking competition show on your table.
MY THOUGHTS 💭
when our friends first introduced us to the game several weeks ago I was immediately hooked and wanted to have it! Waiting for the reprint to ship in January wasn’t good enough. I’ve since calmed down a little and placed my preorder. We played it again during our game night this weekend and loved it still. My number one indicator of a great game is when my wife says “I wouldn’t mind owning this game”. ☺️
RECOMMEND?
Absolutely yes! The base game can be preordered now and it’s worth the $49. The artwork and quality of the insert tray and other items really add to the experience. It’s highly interactive with all players at the table, mostly in a good way.
