Letter Jam

  2-4 PLAYERS   |   AGES 10+   |   45 MINUTES

This beautiful word game has all players working together to guess the secret words they made for each other.
OVERVIEW
in Letter Jam, each player assembles letter cards to form a five-letter word, which they shuffle and give face-down to the next player. Then, each player puts one of their letters face-up (away from their own view) in a stand. After all letters are up, players take turns making a word using the letters they can see, using number tokens to show the order of letters in the word. Once all players have figured out their letters, or they’ve run out of turns, everyone must figure out the word they were given.

MY THOUGHTS
While very beautiful and high-quality, this game is honestly a bit of a miss for me. The rules at the end are ambiguous because you don’t have to actually guess the word you were given - just “any English word.” To enjoy the game, everyone playing should be really good with words and willing to give clues. If anyone is hesitant or only can give four-letter word as clues, the game can be very difficult. For example T-?-L-E could be “TALE” or “TILE”. With the right group this game might be super fun.

RECOMMEND?
I would recommend trying it if you love word games, but not adding it to your game shelf until you do.
