Chickapig

Had a friend visit a couple years ago and brought this game as a gift. He said he picked it up at a gas station where the owner was apparently such a huge fan, he had an entire corner dedicated to the game!

👥: 2-4
🎂: 8+
🕐: 30-60

OVERVIEW 👀
Each player takes on the roll of 6 chickapigs trying to escape from the pen! They have to avoid all sorts of obstacles like a cow, hay bales, other chickapigs, and even cow poop! Special cards can help them along the way, but they must still outwit their opponent at the table to be the first one to get all their chickapigs through the goal!

MY THOUGHTS 💭
Chickapig is a fun, adorable game that can easily be played by kids but there is plenty of strategy to be enjoyed by adults. It has some chess-type mentality to it because each move has to be thought of in advance (you either have 1-6 actions on your turn, depending on the dice roll) and different pieces move in specific ways. Players also have to think defensively to avoid opponents getting all the chickapigs off the board before they do. 2 player is pretty straightforward, but 4 players adds even more mayhem that can help or hinder.

RECOMMEND?
Yes! I would get this for an older group, like 12+ who may think things through a little better, but it certainly is playable by a younger group and still makes for a great family game.

What games do you think are adorable yet deceivingly challenging?
